Unblocked & Unscript'd Script Writing Festival

 

The Black Lady Theatre's Script Writing Workshop "Unblocked & Unscript’d" is seeking writers for its upcoming play festival.

We know that writers’ block is a real feeling that can cause you to feel foggy and unmotivated. If you have an idea but aren't sure how to start or end your story --  or if you need support in developing the story's characters, this program is designed to inspire you and help fill in the gaps with a group of passionate like-minded artists. It’s time to get Unblocked & Unscript’d!

Submissions focusing on experiences of people from the African diaspora should be sent in a PDF document along with a resume and brief cover letter outlining why this piece is important to our community. Plays should be no longer than 20 minutes in length (15 pages maximum). Pages should be numbered with the playwright's last name on each page. Pieces written by people of color are highly considered.

Writers may submit short plays, scenes or monologues.
